How Do We Get Started with MyCG?

Choosing home care is an important decision.

Many families contact us because something has changed. Perhaps a parent has become less independent. Perhaps a loved one has returned home after a hospital stay. Perhaps family caregivers are becoming overwhelmed. Sometimes there isn't a crisis at all. Families simply want to plan ahead.

Whatever brings you to MyCG, we believe every journey should begin with understanding—not paperwork. That is why our first step is always a conversation. We want to learn about your loved one before recommending any services.

1. Step 1 — Contact MyCG

Families can contact MyCG in whichever way is most convenient. For example:

Complete the Request Care form on our website.

Call our office.

Send us an email.

Submit an inquiry through the Family Portal.

Contact us through future MyCG digital services.

Our Family Care Team will respond promptly to begin the conversation.

2. Step 2 — Initial Conversation

During our first discussion, we simply want to understand your situation. We may ask questions such as:

What brings you to MyCG today?

Tell us about your loved one.

What kind of assistance is currently needed?

What concerns you most?

What are your goals?

This is also your opportunity to ask us questions. There is no obligation to make any decisions during this conversation.

3. Step 3 — Schedule a Care Consultation

If home care appears to be appropriate, we arrange a more detailed consultation. Depending on your circumstances, this may occur in your home, by telephone, by video meeting, or at another mutually convenient location.

This consultation allows us to understand your loved one's needs in greater detail.

4. Step 4 — Personalized Care Assessment

Next, we complete a comprehensive assessment. This helps us understand:

Health conditions.

Daily routines.

Personal care needs.

Safety concerns.

Home environment.

Family involvement.

Personal preferences.

Individual goals.

Every assessment is unique because every person is unique.

5. Step 5 — Personalized Care Plan

Using the information gathered during the assessment, we develop a care plan specifically for your loved one. The care plan explains:

Recommended services.

Visit schedule.

Care goals.

Family communication.

Ongoing reviews.

Nothing is based on a standard package. Everything is personalized.

6. Step 6 — Personalized Quotation

Once the care plan has been developed, we prepare a clear quotation explaining recommended services, expected schedule, pricing, billing arrangements, and available payment options.

Families are encouraged to ask questions before making any decisions. Transparency is one of our core values.

7. Step 7 — Service Agreement

If your family decides to proceed, we complete the MyCG Service Agreement. This document explains services, responsibilities, scheduling, billing, privacy, and communication.

The agreement ensures everyone shares the same understanding before care begins.

8. Step 8 — Caregiver Matching

One of the most important steps is selecting the right caregiver. We carefully consider factors such as care needs, personality, experience, skills, schedule compatibility, and communication style.

Our goal is not simply to assign an available caregiver. Our goal is to introduce someone who is likely to build a trusted, long-term relationship with your loved one.

9. Step 9 — Care Begins

Once everything has been agreed upon, your caregiver begins providing services according to the personalized care plan. From that point forward, MyCG continues supporting both the client and the family through ongoing communication, care coordination, quality reviews, schedule adjustments, and family support.

Beginning care is not the end of the process. It is the beginning of a relationship.

10. What Makes the MyCG Process Different?

Many providers begin by asking, "How many hours do you need?" MyCG begins by asking, "Tell us about the person you love." That simple difference shapes everything that follows. We believe understanding the individual always comes before recommending services.

11. How Long Does the Process Take?

Every family is different. Some situations require urgent support. Others involve careful long-term planning. Whenever possible, MyCG works efficiently while ensuring enough time to complete assessment, care planning, caregiver matching, and family discussions.

Our priority is providing the right care—not rushing important decisions.

12. Who This Article Is For

Families exploring home care for the first time.

Adult children arranging support.

Hospital discharge planners.

Physicians making referrals.

Anyone wondering what happens after contacting MyCG.

13. Common Misunderstandings

"We need to know exactly what services we want before contacting MyCG." Not at all. Many families contact us because they are unsure where to begin. Helping you understand your options is part of our role.

"We must commit to services during the first conversation." No. The first conversation is about understanding your situation—not making immediate decisions.

"Home care starts immediately after we call." Beginning care involves thoughtful assessment, planning, caregiver matching, and family discussions to ensure the best possible outcome.

"MyCG uses the same care plan for every client." Every care plan is personalized to reflect the individual's unique needs, preferences, and goals.

14. When Should You Contact MyCG?

The best time to contact MyCG is often before a crisis develops. Early planning gives families more time to explore options, ask questions, prepare financially, involve family members, and build a thoughtful care plan.

Even if care is not needed immediately, we are always happy to have a conversation.

15. Why Families Appreciate Our Process

Families frequently tell us they appreciate that MyCG never rushes them. Instead of immediately discussing paperwork or pricing, we begin by listening. That conversation helps families feel understood, respected, and supported from the very beginning. It also allows us to design care that truly reflects the person's needs rather than fitting them into a predetermined package.
