Do Evenings, Weekends, or Holidays Cost More?

Home care is needed every day of the year—not just during regular business hours. Many clients require support early in the morning, late in the evening, overnight, on weekends, or during public holidays.

Because these times can require additional staffing, scheduling flexibility, and caregiver availability, some providers apply different pricing for services delivered outside standard daytime hours.

At MyCG Home Care, we believe families deserve complete transparency. If your care schedule includes evenings, weekends, overnight care, or holidays, we will explain any applicable pricing before your care begins. There are never hidden adjustments made without your knowledge.

1. Why Different Rates May Apply

Providing care outside standard daytime hours often requires additional operational planning. For example:

Coordinating caregiver availability.

Managing overnight staffing.

Providing holiday coverage.

Ensuring continuity of care.

Maintaining emergency support.

These factors can increase the operational cost of delivering care safely and reliably. Where appropriate, this may be reflected in the pricing for those services.

2. Common Situations

Evening Care: some clients prefer assistance after work hours with dinner preparation, evening routines, personal care, medication reminders, and bedtime support. Overnight Care: overnight services may include safety monitoring, mobility assistance, scheduled support during the night, and reassurance for families. Because overnight care often involves extended caregiver availability, pricing may differ from daytime services. Weekend Care: weekends are often when family caregivers need additional support, helping families attend personal commitments, rest and recharge, travel, and maintain work-life balance. Holiday Care: care needs do not stop during holidays. Many families appreciate knowing their loved one continues receiving dependable support even during holiday periods. Holiday scheduling often requires additional workforce planning and may involve different pricing where applicable.

3. Will We Know the Cost in Advance?

Absolutely. If your care plan includes services that have different pricing, we will explain:

The reason.

The applicable schedule.

The expected cost.

Available alternatives, where appropriate.

You will never be surprised by unexpected rate changes after care has already been provided.

4. Can We Adjust Our Schedule?

Yes. Some families choose to:

Move visits to weekdays.

Reduce weekend support.

Increase weekday hours.

Adjust overnight arrangements.

Our Care Coordinators are happy to discuss scheduling options that balance your loved one's needs with your family's preferences and budget.

5. Our Commitment to Fairness

Whether care is provided on a Tuesday morning or a holiday weekend, our commitment to compassionate, professional care remains exactly the same. Any pricing differences reflect scheduling and operational considerations—not the value we place on your loved one. Every client receives the same respect, dignity, and commitment regardless of when care is provided.
