How Does Private-Pay Home Care Work?
Private-pay home care means that the client or their family pays directly for home care services rather than relying on government programs or insurance.
After completing a care assessment, MyCG Home Care develops a personalized care plan and provides a clear quotation. Once the service agreement is approved, care begins according to the agreed schedule, and invoices are issued based on the services provided.
Our goal is to make the process simple, transparent, and easy to understand.

1. What Private-Pay Care Means
Most families begin their home care journey as private-pay clients. Private-pay simply means that payment for services comes directly from the individual receiving care or from family members who have agreed to support them financially. Unlike insurance-based programs, private-pay care generally offers greater flexibility because families can choose:
The services they need.
The number of care hours.
The schedule.
How care evolves over time.
At MyCG Home Care, we guide families through each step so they understand exactly how the process works before services begin.
2. Step 1 — Initial Conversation
Everything begins with a conversation. We take time to understand:
Your loved one's needs.
Your concerns.
Your goals.
Your family's expectations.
Sometimes this conversation is enough to answer immediate questions. In other situations, we recommend moving forward with a care assessment.
3. Step 2 — Personalized Care Assessment
Our team works with your family to understand:
Daily routines.
Mobility.
Personal care needs.
Medical considerations.
Home environment.
Family involvement.
Safety concerns.
Personal preferences.
This assessment allows us to recommend the most appropriate level of care.
4. Step 3 — Care Plan Development
Based on the assessment, we prepare a personalized care plan outlining:
Recommended services.
Visit schedule.
Care goals.
Caregiver responsibilities.
Communication arrangements.
Family involvement.
Every care plan is designed around the individual—not around a standard package.
5. Step 4 — Personalized Quotation
Once the care plan has been developed, we provide a written quotation explaining:
The proposed services.
Expected care schedule.
Applicable pricing.
Billing arrangements.
Available payment options.
We encourage families to ask questions before making any decisions.
6. Step 5 — Service Agreement
Once everyone is comfortable with the proposed care plan and quotation, we complete the MyCG Service Agreement. This document explains:
Responsibilities.
Scheduling.
Billing.
Privacy.
Communication.
Service expectations.
It establishes a clear understanding between MyCG and your family.
7. Step 6 — Care Begins
After everything has been agreed, your assigned caregiver begins providing services according to the care plan. Throughout your journey, our Care Coordination Team remains available to answer questions, review care, and adjust services whenever necessary.
8. How Are Payments Made?
Private-pay families typically receive invoices according to the billing schedule established in their Service Agreement. MyCG offers convenient payment options designed to make the process simple and secure. Specific payment methods are explained in our article, What Payment Methods Does MyCG Accept?
9. Can More Than One Family Member Help Pay?
Yes. Many families share the financial responsibility for a loved one's care. For example:
Adult children may divide monthly payments.
Siblings may contribute different amounts.
A spouse and children may share expenses.
A legal representative may coordinate payments.
Our administrative team is happy to discuss practical billing arrangements whenever appropriate.
10. Why Many Families Prefer Private-Pay Care
Private-pay care often provides greater flexibility because families can:
Begin services quickly.
Customize schedules.
Adjust care as needs change.
Select the services that best fit their situation.
Maintain greater control over care planning.
This flexibility is one reason many families choose private-pay home care.

"Private-pay means home care is only for wealthy families." Not at all. Many families begin with a few hours of care each week and adjust services over time as their needs and budgets evolve.
"We must commit to full-time care." No. Private-pay care can often be tailored to your family's preferred schedule.
"We won't understand the costs until after services begin." At MyCG, your quotation is reviewed before care starts. Transparency is one of our core commitments.
"Private-pay means we're completely on our own." Not at all. Our Care Coordinators remain involved throughout your care journey to provide guidance, answer questions, and help adjust services whenever necessary.
