Do We Have to Sign a Long-Term Contract?

When families first explore home care, one of the most common concerns is: "Are we going to be locked into a long-term contract?" This concern is understandable.

Life changes. Health conditions change. Family circumstances change. Care needs evolve. Because of this, MyCG believes flexibility should be part of the care experience.

Our service agreement is intended to establish a clear understanding between MyCG and your family. It is not intended to force families to continue receiving services that are no longer needed.

1. What Our Service Agreement Explains

It explains:

The services we will provide.

Our responsibilities.

Your responsibilities.

Billing arrangements.

Privacy and confidentiality.

Scheduling expectations.

How changes to services are handled.

2. Why We Use Service Agreements

Although families are not expected to commit to unnecessary long-term care, written agreements remain important because they help everyone understand:

What care has been requested.

What services will be delivered.

How communication will take place.

How billing works.

How schedules are managed.

How either party can request changes.

A clear agreement protects both the family and MyCG while creating a shared understanding from the beginning.

3. Short-Term and Long-Term Care Are Both Welcome

MyCG supports many different types of care arrangements. Short-Term Care examples include recovery after surgery, respite care, family vacations, temporary caregiver relief, and transitional care after hospital discharge. Ongoing Care examples include companion care, personal care, dementia support, long-term assistance with daily living, and progressive health conditions.

Every care plan is developed around the client's needs—not around a required contract length.

4. Can We Stop Care If Our Situation Changes?

Yes. Families may decide to stop or adjust services for many reasons. For example:

Recovery is complete.

A family member becomes available.

A loved one moves.

Care needs increase or decrease.

Another level of care becomes more appropriate.

When circumstances change, we simply ask families to communicate with us as early as possible so we can coordinate caregiver schedules and ensure a smooth transition. Specific notice requirements, if applicable, will always be explained in your service agreement.

5. Why Some Families Choose Ongoing Care

Although long-term contracts are not required, many families continue receiving MyCG services because they value:

Consistent caregivers.

Familiar routines.

Strong relationships.

Reliable scheduling.

Ongoing communication.

Peace of mind.

We believe these long-term relationships are earned through quality care—not contractual obligations.

6. The MyCG Long-Term Care Advantage

Families who require ongoing support over an extended period may qualify for our MyCG Long-Term Care Advantage. This program recognizes the benefits of continuity, including:

Stable caregiver assignments.

Better care coordination.

More predictable scheduling.

Stronger relationships.

Preferred long-term care rates, where applicable.

Participation is based on care needs and program eligibility—not on restrictive contract commitments.

8. Common Misunderstandings

"Home care providers always require long-term contracts." Not necessarily. At MyCG, care is designed around your needs, not around unnecessary long-term commitments.

"Signing a service agreement means we're locked in forever." No. The agreement explains how care will be delivered and how changes can be made. It is not intended to prevent families from adapting care as circumstances evolve.

"Only long-term clients receive quality care." Every MyCG client receives the same commitment to compassionate, professional care, whether services are needed for one week or several years.

"Stopping care is complicated." We strive to make care transitions as smooth as possible through clear communication and advance planning.

9. When Should You Contact MyCG?

If you're unsure whether your loved one needs temporary or ongoing care, we encourage you to contact us. We can help you understand:

Which care options are available.

What type of service agreement is appropriate.

How care can evolve over time.

What flexibility exists if circumstances change.

Our goal is to help you make informed decisions without unnecessary pressure.

10. Why Families Appreciate Our Approach

Families often tell us they feel reassured knowing that MyCG focuses on earning their trust every day rather than relying on long-term contractual commitments. They appreciate knowing that if their loved one's needs change, the care plan can change too. That flexibility reflects our belief that exceptional home care should adapt to people—not the other way around.
