How Does MyCG Keep Families Informed?

Many families cannot be with their loved one every day. Some live across town. Others live across the country—or even in another country. Naturally, they wonder: "How will I know what's happening?"

At MyCG, we understand that information creates peace of mind. Families don't simply want to know that a caregiver visited. They want to know how their loved one is feeling, whether everything went well, if anything has changed, and whether they need to be concerned.

That is why communication is built into every stage of our care process.

1. Our Communication Philosophy

We believe communication should be proactive, honest, timely, respectful, secure, and personalized. Rather than waiting for families to ask questions, we work to keep them appropriately informed throughout the care journey.

2. Visit Documentation

After each visit, caregivers securely document services completed, care provided, client wellbeing, activities, observations, changes noticed, and follow-up recommendations where appropriate.

These records become part of the client's CareOS record.

3. Care Coordinator Communication

Your Care Coordinator remains available throughout the care journey. They help families understand care plan progress, schedule changes, care recommendations, service adjustments, and questions or concerns.

Many families view their Care Coordinator as their primary communication partner.

4. Scheduled Care Reviews

Regular care reviews provide opportunities to discuss progress, changing needs, family questions, care goals, and service adjustments.

These conversations help ensure the care plan continues reflecting the client's current situation.

5. Immediate Notifications

Some situations require prompt communication, such as falls, medical concerns, hospitalization, significant health changes, emergencies, and important care plan updates.

In these situations, MyCG follows established communication procedures to notify authorized family members as quickly as reasonably possible.

6. Family Portal & Family App

As CareOS continues to evolve, families will have secure access to information through the MyCG Family Portal and the MyCG Family App. Future capabilities include daily visit summaries, caregiver notes, care plan progress, appointment updates, visit history, caregiver schedules, secure messaging, notifications, billing information, and family document access.

These tools help families remain connected wherever they are.

7. Communication Preferences

Every family communicates differently. Some families prefer telephone calls, secure email, mobile notifications, weekly summaries, or immediate updates for important events. During onboarding, MyCG works with families to understand how they would like communication to occur whenever possible.

Communication should support your family's needs—not create additional stress.

8. Family Participation

Keeping families informed is only part of the process. We also encourage families to remain involved by asking questions, sharing observations, reporting changes, participating in care planning, providing feedback, and updating emergency contacts.

The best care happens when families and MyCG work together.

9. Privacy Always Comes First

Although we encourage communication, client privacy always remains protected. Information is shared only with authorized family members, legal representatives, individuals approved by the client, or others permitted by applicable privacy laws.

Communication and confidentiality work together—not against each other.

10. The Role of CareOS

CareOS transforms communication from isolated conversations into a coordinated family experience. Future capabilities include secure messaging, communication history, care timeline, visit summaries, automated notifications, family preferences, escalation alerts, Care Coordinator communication, emergency notifications, and communication analytics.

Every important conversation becomes part of the client's ongoing care story.

12. Common Misunderstandings

"We'll only hear from MyCG if something goes wrong." Routine communication is a regular part of our care philosophy.

"Every family receives identical updates." Communication is personalized based on family preferences, client authorization, and care needs.

"Technology replaces human communication." Technology supports communication—but Care Coordinators and caregivers remain at the heart of every relationship.

"Staying informed means sacrificing privacy." Communication is always balanced with appropriate confidentiality and client privacy.

13. When Should You Contact MyCG?

Please contact us whenever you would like more frequent updates, your communication preferences change, you have questions about your loved one's care, you notice changes, or you have suggestions for improving communication.

We welcome ongoing conversations.

14. Why Families Appreciate Our Communication Model

Families consistently tell us that regular communication gives them confidence. Knowing that someone is paying close attention—and that they will be informed when something important happens—helps reduce worry. Even small updates often provide tremendous reassurance. For many families, staying informed is almost as important as the care itself. That is why communication has become one of the defining characteristics of the MyCG experience.
